I started a small business called Sarzyńska Design that allowed me to design and sell wooden objects I designed and fabricated with the help of my father and his associates. Most of the products are intended for use in the kitchen—cutting boards, utensils, trivets—though I also had one of my illustrations converted into a plate and letter-pressed a limited run of prints, for which I designed a custom maple frame.
Through this experience, I learned basic woodworking techniques, got my hands sandy, and seized the opportunity to collaborate with my family to produce quality products.
